From Netflix Top 3 to Disney+ Launch: Ji Chang-wook's Global October Is Just Getting Started
Ji Chang-wook turned heads at Paris Fashion Week, drawing crowds of local fans at the Tom Ford show and racking up over 530,000 likes on his Instagram recap. He now has two global streaming series landing within weeks of each other.

Ji Chang-wook posted a caption that read "short but intense" alongside a series of photos from Paris Fashion Week, and the internet agreed: the Instagram set crossed 530,000 likes by the morning of the 3rd.
The actor attended the Tom Ford show as part of his Paris schedule, arriving in a white shirt, black trousers, and a patterned longcoat with a loosely draped tie and sunglasses. One black-and-white shot from a balcony, camera gaze direct and unhurried, did most of the circulation work. But the moment fans on the ground seemed to react to most was simpler: Ji Chang-wook walking over to the crowd that had gathered to see him and waving, greeting people directly rather than passing through.
Two global releases back to back
The Paris visit arrived at a dense moment in his schedule. His Netflix series Scandal launched on September 18 and, by September 30, had logged 2.8 million views and 21.9 million viewing hours in its second week on the platform, landing at No. 3 on Netflix's global non-English TV chart. It also ranked in the Top 10 in 18 countries, including Japan, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
Next up is the Disney+ original Merry Berry Love, which drops worldwide on the 7th. He plays Lee Yu-bin, a spatial designer who loses everything overnight and finds himself on a scenic island opposite a Japanese woman farmer named Karin, a cross-border romance the show describes as bittersweet. It's a notably softer register than Scandal, and the back-to-back releases put him in front of two very different global audiences within the same month.
Japan tour and what's next
While the streaming numbers build, Ji Chang-wook is also mid-tour. His Japan fan concert series Just Come With includes Osaka dates on the 2nd and 3rd, followed by Yokohama shows on the 17th and 18th.
Looking further ahead, he's set to star in the JTBC fantasy romantic comedy Human X Gumiho alongside Jeon Ji-hyun, currently scheduled for 2027. The drama follows a gumiho (a supernatural fox spirit from Korean folklore) and the human whose fate becomes entangled with hers, which, given the casting, is already drawing considerable anticipation.
