The couple stills for KBS2's new Saturday-Sunday miniseries Neon Malgo Dareun Yeonae (tentatively titled Love Other Than You) landed on Tuesday, and the reaction was immediate: fans split almost evenly between "they look so natural together" and "the vibe just doesn't match."

Seo Kang-joon's management company Man of Creation posted the first batch of unreleased couple photos on its official social media, giving fans their clearest look yet at the on-screen dynamic between Seo Kang-joon, playing the character Nam Gung-ho, and Ahn Eun-jin as Lee Mi-do, a pair who have been together for ten years.

The stills themselves lean into the "comfortable long-term couple" energy deliberately. One shot has the two taking a selfie cheek to cheek; another, on a cherry blossom path, shows Seo Kang-joon climbing onto Ahn Eun-jin's back, playing around like a couple well past the point of trying to impress each other. A third has them making a heart shape with their hands. The styling is casual and unfussy throughout, which seems like a considered choice to reinforce the idea of two people who have nothing left to prove to one another.

Online communities picked up the photos quickly. Positive reactions centered on the pairing itself: "they suit each other way more than I expected," "the visual combination is unreal for a 10-year couple," and "they genuinely look like they've been together forever" were common threads. The photos were doing a reasonable job of selling the relationship's worn-in warmth.

But a vocal counter-reaction emerged just as fast. Some viewers felt the two actors carry different energies that don't quite converge on screen yet: comments like "it feels more like an older brother and younger sister," "the romantic chemistry isn't quite there for me," and "their visual styles are just very different" reflected a hesitation that's worth tracking. The two leads do occupy very different aesthetic spaces: Seo Kang-joon tends toward bright, polished visuals, while Ahn Eun-jin brings a more understated, grounded quality to her screen presence. Whether that contrast becomes a tension that the drama can work with, or a gap the chemistry needs to close, is essentially the question the show will have to answer.

The series premieres on September 12 and runs for 14 episodes. Its premise follows a couple at the ten-year mark of their relationship who suddenly find themselves encountering unfamiliar emotions, a setup that positions the drama squarely in the "realistic melo" genre: less about grand gestures, more about the quieter friction of two people who have grown so used to each other they've stopped really seeing one another. Given that premise, the casting debate about whether Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin feel like a "real" long-term couple might be one of the more useful pre-release conversations to have.
