TV CHOSUN's weekend drama Doctor Shin (written by Phoebe, directed by Lee Seung-hun, produced by TM Group and Shin&Studio) has entered a critical turning point. In episode 9, which aired late Saturday night, the emotional stakes, and the romantic entanglements, reached a fever pitch, even as the show continues to struggle in the ratings.

The centerpiece of the episode was a devastating revelation: after suffering a miscarriage, Momo (played by Baek Sera), who is living in her borrowed body while her consciousness belongs to Jin-ju (played by Cheon Young-min), forces Dr. Shin (Jung I-chan) into a breakup. What follows is a calculated revenge plot. Momo, determined to make trouble for Geum-bara (Joo Se-bin), begins seducing Ha Yong-joong (Ahn Woo-yeon), and the four characters spiral into an increasingly tangled web.

The episode opens on an intimate beach scene that turns out to be Geum-bara's fantasy. She imagines Ha Yong-joong making a confession, only to be let down when his actual words, "You really are my top priority", don't match her hopes. Lying beside him in the sand, Geum-bara's internal monologue reveals her yearning: she thinks she could live forever without seeing her parents if Ha Yong-joong would simply stay by her side. Yet she also finds herself envying Momo.

Sensing an opportunity, Momo arranges a chance meeting between Geum-bara and Ha Yong-joong, where she exploits the moment to turn him against Dr. Shin. She claims the doctor beat her during the miscarriage, playing the victim with calculated precision. When Geum-bara takes Dr. Shin's side, Momo strikes back emotionally, confessing her pain and appealing to Ha Yong-joong for support, a move that leaves Geum-bara visibly anxious about where this newfound alliance might lead.

Meanwhile, Dr. Shin drowns his sorrows in alcohol, replaying memories of happier moments with Geum-bara at an omakase dinner. He recalls how he once casually asked her about Momo's behavior and Jin-ju's true nature, and how he shared a dream about a large snake biting Momo's shoulder, a traditional Korean sign symbolizing a future son. The recollection of Geum-bara's congratulations cuts deep. In a moment of raw fury, he hurls his glass to the floor and rages, cursing himself for turning Jin-ju, a nobody, into a princess, and lamenting his failure as a father.

Back at home, Momo's defiance grows sharper. When Dr. Shin blames her carelessness for the miscarriage, she responds with cold sarcasm: "You didn't want this child, did you? You regret the surgery." When he suggests they try for another baby, she shuts him down completely, demanding a divorce instead. She declares, "I'll keep your secret safe. All the way to the grave," the threat barely veiled. Dr. Shin, understanding her full intention to leak news of their divorce, strikes back with a single cutting question: "Excited about holding the world in your arms?"

Momo's true ambitions spill out as she fantasizes about the glamorous life awaiting her as a wealthy wife, but her gaze shifts to Ha Yong-joong. After the divorce news breaks, a drunk Geum-bara seeks out Ha Yong-joong, asking desperately, "What if Momo falls for you too?" She retreats to her bathroom in tears, overwhelmed by his indifference to her feelings.

Dr. Shin, meanwhile, finds his mind playing tricks on him. He catches himself confusing Geum-bara's face with Momo's, and he even imagines Geum-bara, not a nurse, placing food on his plate. Unable to resist, he calls Geum-bara and asks to meet.

Momo, left alone with her thoughts, grows increasingly confident in her scheme. She muses that if anyone could truly erase her, they'd have to kill Momo, a perfect crime. She's thrilled at the thought of Geum-bara's shock when she discovers the truth about who really inhabits Momo's body. But her moment of triumph is interrupted when Kim Gwang-chul (Cha Gwang-soo) suddenly appears and blocks her car. Convinced that Momo is hiding Jin-ju, he demands a photo. Momo's fear is palpable, she trembles as she hides her alarm behind a forced composure.

The episode culminates in a mirror-image climax. Momo successfully engineers a private moment with Ha Yong-joong, greeting him with a calculated smile outside her apartment. Simultaneously, Dr. Shin finds Geum-bara in distress and sweeps her into his arms, carrying her to bed like a princess. As Dr. Shin and Geum-bara cross paths with Momo and Ha Yong-joong in their separate worlds, the four characters' fates collide at an inflection point, leaving viewers wondering how these tangled relationships will ultimately unravel.
