R&B duo Fly to the Sky is coming back together, and the confirmation fans have been waiting years for came directly from the members themselves.

On the 27th, Brian posted on his social media with a photo of him and Hwanhee side by side in a recording studio, the kind of image that says more than a press release ever could. "You've heard the news, right?" he wrote. "What Hwanhee said is true. We're coming back! If you wait just a little, we might be back sooner than you think."

How the comeback came together

The announcement had actually begun to take shape a day earlier, when Hwanhee appeared on the KBS2 variety show Men Who Do Housework 2 on the 26th and broke the news on air. He explained that the reunion became possible after Brian performed at his solo concert last year and told him he wanted to be back on stage together. That quiet admission from Brian, Hwanhee said, was what set everything in motion.

Fly to the Sky debuted in 1999 with their self-titled first album and spent the following decade building one of the most beloved catalogues in Korean R&B. Tracks like Day by Day, Sea of Love, Missing You, and 남자답게 placed them firmly in the history of Korean male vocal duos. Their tenth studio album, Fly High, came out in 2019, and for several years after that the two largely went their separate ways, with occasional rumors of a falling-out between them.

Those rumors were put to rest in May, when the pair appeared together on the MBN variety program Jeon Hyun-mu Plan 3 and addressed the speculation directly. "We did fight a lot when we were young, but there was never any serious falling-out," they said. The studio photo Brian posted on the 27th, warm and unguarded, reads as a natural continuation of that reunion.

A specific timeline for the comeback has not yet been announced, but the fact that they are already in the recording studio together suggests it may not be far off. For fans who have been following both members through their solo careers, the wait is almost over.
