When the 2026 Global Citizen Festival was called off due to severe weather before TXT could take the Central Park stage, the group didn't pack up and go home. They rented a practice room somewhere in New York and went live on Weverse instead.

The group had been slated as the only Korean act on the festival's lineup this year, set to open the show. Member Yeonjun had also prepared a separate solo performance for the event. None of that disappeared when the weather did.

The rehearsal-room set

The makeshift show, which fans quickly dubbed the "NYC Practice Room Festival," pulled together all five members, their full dancer lineup, and a five-song set built around material they'd prepared for the outdoor stage. "We worked so hard on this and we didn't want to miss the chance to share it," the members said during the stream. "The space is different, but everything else is exactly as we planned. All we need is music and a mic, and we'll give it everything we have, anywhere."

The setlist covered real ground: 5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나 ("You and I Found in the Sky at 5:53"), 0X1=LOVESONG, a cover of Justin Bieber's Beauty and a Beat, and a version of Sugar Rush Ride arranged in gugak (traditional Korean music) style. That last performance was the one that caught the most attention: the members wore hanbok-inspired costumes and leaned into the folk-influenced staging, turning a pop track into something genuinely unexpected. Yeonjun's solo number was folded into the stream as well, giving him the spotlight he'd been preparing for.

What comes next

The stream closed with a short teaser clip carrying the text "We need something different from anything before", a fairly clear signal that a comeback is in the works, though no release date was attached.

TXT launches their new world tour, STEAL THE WIND, on November 13 through 15 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul's Olympic Park, before heading into December dates on the 2026 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in the United States.
