Gong Hyo-jin is done with Seoul. In a video posted to her YouTube channel on July 30, the actress gave viewers a tour of her new home outside the city, decorated in white and natural wood tones, and said simply: "I moved and cleared out my Seoul life."

The relocation had been hinted at back in May, when Gong first mentioned she was planning to leave the capital. At the time she explained her reasoning plainly: "I thought if I went just a little to the outskirts, I could find more healing." The new house, which she describes as a place that "matches summer," appears to be that reset.

The video's guest was actor Jung Jun-won, her co-star in the upcoming MBC drama Yubunya Killer (loosely translated as Married Woman Killer). When Jung appeared in the spacious garden, Gong greeted him warmly with "yeobo" (darling), the same term of endearment their characters use on screen. The two play a married couple in the drama, and Gong said she invited Jung over specifically to build their on-screen chemistry ahead of the premiere: "He's the colleague I feel most comfortable and closest to right now."

Jung, for his part, took note of the space. After looking around he told her, "Watching your YouTube, it seems like you're really into interior design," and Gong confirmed as much. She traced the interest back to fashion: "I think most people who love fashion eventually shift their attention to spaces. It's all the same sensibility in the end. If you're someone who likes being at home, you'll probably get into interiors pretty quickly."

Gong Hyo-jin married singer Kevin Oh in 2022. Kevin Oh is ten years her junior, and the couple has largely kept their domestic life low-key since the wedding. This marks one of the more candid glimpses into where and how she's living now.

On the professional front, Yubunya Killer premieres on MBC on July 31, marking Gong's return to the network after 15 years. The Friday-Saturday drama follows a working mother who leads a double life: devoted homemaker and wife on one side, ruthless one-shot assassin taking out criminals the law has failed to catch on the other. Gong plays Yoo Bo-na, that dual-threat lead, while Jung plays Kwon Tae-seong, a passionate social affairs journalist who doubles as his wife's most steadfast supporter.

Fifteen years is a long gap for any network relationship, and a suburban home tour the day before a premiere is not an accident. Early returns on the drama's pre-release buzz will tell whether the combination of Gong's comeback and the high-concept premise lands with audiences. Circle July 31.
