Heo Kyung-hwan, 45, Vows to Marry Within 3 Years, and Reveals the Awkward Truth About Dating a 178cm Model
On a YouTube variety show, comedian Heo Kyung-hwan opened up about his marriage timeline and his past relationship with a significantly taller woman. With his trademark humor, he recounted one unforgettable moment: being too short to be noticed when they passed each other in a subway bathroom.

Comedian Heo Kyung-hwan, 45, made a surprising confession on the YouTube variety show Pinkye-go: he's set himself a three-year deadline to get married, and he's willing to date a woman significantly taller than him, even if the experience proved more awkward than romantic.
Appearing on the show with actress Hong Hyun-hee and MC Yu Jae-seok, Heo fielded a question about his ideal partner's height. "I'm honestly not in a position to be picky about height," he said, before offering a refreshingly candid caveat: "But she can't be too short, because I'm already short myself. If we're both tiny, that won't work." He then stressed that he's open to dating taller women, it's his choice to make, not theirs.

The real story emerged when he recalled a past relationship. His ex-girlfriend was 178 centimeters tall, roughly 10 centimeters taller than his own 168-centimeter frame. "When we first started dating, neither of us really noticed the height difference," he explained. "But once we actually told each other our heights, we became super aware of it."
Then came the punchline. "After we broke up, I ran into her by chance at a subway station. She was coming out of the bathroom. I was standing there trying to figure out how to say hello, and then she just walked right past me." He paused for effect. "She didn't see me. Not because she was ignoring me, because I was too short. She literally didn't notice I was there." The audience erupted in laughter.
But the height gap had its drawbacks, Heo added. "The worst part was when we'd fight. I'd have to look up at her the whole time to argue, and it looked ridiculous. Then I'd turn and walk away, but my short legs would just... shuffle along." He mimed the awkward gait, drawing more laughs from the room.
Despite the comedic take, Heo's three-year timeline reflects genuine concern about finding a partner as he enters his mid-to-late 40s. Whether his future wife will be 178 centimeters tall or closer to his height remains to be seen, but viewers can expect plenty of material either way.
