ILLIT's Billboard Japan Top 5 Track Gets a Korean Version, and Fans Are Already Sold
ILLIT has released a Korean-language version of 'I Got Your Back,' the rock-leaning title track from their second Japanese single that climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. J-pop group HANA members Jisu and Momoka return as featured artists on the Korean cut, carrying over their roles from the original.

ILLIT rang in the early hours of the 17th with a surprise for fans: I Got Your Back (Korean Ver.), a full Korean-language version of the title track from their second Japanese single, dropped at midnight KST via Belift Lab (HYBE).
The original was already doing real work on the charts. The rock-genre track peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 after its release last month, which made it one of the group's strongest chart performances in Japan to date. The Korean version keeps the same energy intact, and J-pop girl group HANA members Jisu and Momoka are back in their original roles, contributing featured vocals and rap lyrics to the new cut just as they did on the Japanese release. It's a thoughtful way to carry the collaboration forward rather than simply swapping the language track.
The timing lands well. ILLIT is currently in the middle of a stretch of live activity that shows the group's momentum in sharp relief: their Hong Kong concerts scheduled for June 22 and 23 have already sold out every seat. From there, the group heads to encore shows in Incheon in October and Chiba, Japan in December, filling out a second half of the year that should keep both Korean and Japanese fandoms well occupied.
For listeners who came to ILLIT through their earlier pop-forward releases, the rock texture of I Got Your Back is still a noticeable shift in register, and hearing it in Korean makes it easier to appreciate how the vocal arrangement sits in that slightly rougher sonic space. The Korean version gives the song a longer life and opens it up to audiences who may have skipped the Japanese original.
