Jennie Is Already Working on a New EP Just 17 Months After 'Ruby'

Jennie is preparing a new EP set for release before the end of August, just 17 months after her debut album 'Ruby' peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, her Tame Impala collaboration 'Dracula' is holding strong at No. 8 on the Hot 100 in its 12th consecutive week inside the top 10.

Jennie is heading back into release mode. Her label OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) confirmed on the 19th that the BLACKPINK member and solo artist is currently in the final stages of preparing a new EP, with a release targeted for the end of this month. It marks her first album-format project since Ruby, her debut full-length, which came out in March of last year.

Ruby made an immediate case for Jennie as a genuine solo force in the global pop market. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, and multiple tracks from it landed on the Hot 100, including lead single "Like JENNIE." For a Korean solo artist to chart at that level across multiple songs from a single project is still a meaningful benchmark, and the new EP arrives with that momentum still very much intact.

The chart case for that claim is 'Dracula,' her genre-bending collaboration with Australian rock band Tame Impala. As of the July 22 Billboard chart update, 'Dracula' sits at No. 8 on the Hot 100, its 12th consecutive week inside the top 10. On the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart it has spent 32 straight weeks at No. 1, and it has now led Hot Rock & Alternative Songs for 14 consecutive weeks. For a song to sit comfortably across that range of genre charts simultaneously is the kind of crossover reach most artists spend entire albums chasing.

Live performance has been just as central to Jennie's 2025 run as the streaming numbers. She has headlined seven major international festivals this year, including Governors Ball in the United States, Roskilde in Denmark, and Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan, a stretch that has started attaching a real nickname to her name in festival coverage: festival queen. The phrase fits. Headlining at that scale across multiple continents in a single cycle is rare territory.

Several songs previewed during those festival sets are expected to appear on the new EP. Tracks like 'Less than a Lover,' 'FALLEN ANGEL,' and 'lockitdown' all received their live debuts at festival shows, and fan response has been strong enough that their inclusion feels closer to confirmed than speculated. Audiences who caught any of those headline slots will already have a sense of where the new project is pointing sonically, even before a tracklist drops.

With 'Dracula' still charting, festival dates fresh in the rearview, and an EP arriving within weeks, Jennie is moving at a pace that leaves little room for a momentum dip.
