Lee Min-woo and Wife Move Out After 7-Person Household and TV Exit
Lee Min-woo of Shinhwa and his wife Lee Ah-mi have moved out of the multi-generational family home they shared with seven relatives. The couple quietly left the KBS2 show Sallinam 2 earlier this year, with Lee Ah-mi confirming the move on social media.

Lee Ah-mi, wife of Shinhwa member Lee Min-woo, confirmed on the 27th via her social media Q&A that the couple had moved into a new home, answering a fan's question about whether they had relocated with a simple "yes" and a cheerful emoji. It marked a quiet but meaningful close to a chapter that had played out, with unusual candor, on national television.

From a packed household to a fresh start
The couple's living situation had been a recurring thread on KBS2's Sallinam 2 (short for Men Who Do Housework 2), which Lee Min-woo joined in June 2024. At the time, he was already living in a family home where his sister occupied a small room, his parents used the living room, and he took the master bedroom. Rather than find separate housing before the wedding, he proposed that his new wife and her young daughter move in with the existing household. His parents were visibly surprised; his mother had not expected to share a home with that many people, and said as much on camera.

The household eventually grew to seven members after Lee Ah-mi and Lee Min-woo welcomed a second daughter in December of last year. Lee Min-woo had filed for marriage registration the year before that, though the couple held their official wedding ceremony in March, when Lee Ah-mi was described in Korean media as a third-generation Zainichi Korean. She had been a single mother to a six-year-old daughter at the time of the marriage announcement, a detail that initially surprised viewers of the show.
The tension that built inside that household was not subtle. Lee Min-woo's 81-year-old mother appeared on Sallinam 2 and spoke openly about the strain of helping raise a newborn at her age, saying she had not anticipated another baby arriving. Lee Ah-mi's desire to establish an independent household was also documented on the show. The move, then, has been anticipated by anyone following along.

Leaving the show, then the house
Lee Min-woo stopped appearing on Sallinam 2 after the June 13th broadcast, following discussions with the production team. Lee Ah-mi, responding to fans who asked to see her on the show, said simply: "Sallinam 2 is done for us. Thank you so much for your support."

As for the new home, Lee Min-woo had signaled the move as far back as June, posting a photo of a signed lease agreement with the caption: "New heart, new start. Let's live happily, family. Good weather, good mood, contract complete."
The move comes against a broader backdrop that has shaped the couple's financial circumstances. Lee Min-woo had been the victim of a 2.6 billion won fraud scheme carried out over 26 months by a broadcast writer identified only as A, who falsely claimed to have prosecutor connections and could have a sexual assault allegation against Lee Min-woo dropped in exchange for payments. The allegation itself, which stemmed from a 2019 report, did not result in charges. A, who turned out to be an acquaintance of Lee Min-woo's sister, was convicted in both first and second instance and sentenced to nine years in prison, with approximately 2.63 billion won ordered for recovery. Both parties have since appealed. Lee Min-woo had cited the financial fallout from that case as a key reason for the multi-generational living arrangement in the first place.
With the legal matter still unresolved on appeal, the household restructuring at least closes one stressful chapter. Lee Ah-mi's social media posts from the 27th showed her smiling, and fans who offered congratulations on the move received a simple "thank you" in return.
