Former NCT Star Mark Embraces Simple Life After Leaving SM Entertainment
Mark, the former NCT member, is embracing a simpler life in Fort Lee and dispelling retirement rumors. A recent vlog showed him enjoying family time and reflecting on his music aspirations after leaving SM Entertainment.

Mark, the former NCT member, revealed his unassuming daily life in Fort Lee, New Jersey, in a recent vlog titled "안녕하세요 마크리입니다" (Hello, I'm Mark). Released on August 7, the video captures Mark in a casual tee, navigating around the neighborhood while sharing his experiences post-NCT.

Living with a close friend, Mark expressed a refreshing mindset: "Here, I don’t see myself as a celebrity. When locals recognize me, it feels a bit awkward." His candid reflections conveyed a relatable sense of normalcy, as he thrived in a community where he wasn’t just another famous face.

In playful moments, he interacted with neighborhood kids, even joining them for a game of basketball. Mark also highlighted his involvement in hands-on parenting, picking up his friend's children from kindergarten. The charming sight of him hugging the kids as they greeted him showcased a softer side of the singer, who later exhausted himself playing and caring for them.

Amidst the joy, Mark addressed circulating retirement rumors following his departure from SM Entertainment. In a video titled "그동안의 이야기 그리고 앞으로의 꿈" (The Story So Far and My Future Dreams), he reflected on the emotional toll of his contract ending in April. Writing a heartfelt letter to fans wasn’t easy for him, but he pushed himself to convey his genuine feelings. "I wanted to express my gratitude; thanks to you, the past decade has been fulfilling," he shared during the update.

However, he also recounted the pressure of fan reactions. "Did I just retire? Am I busking now?" He felt a wave of relief expressing, "I’m not retiring; I needed to come back through music.
Reflecting on his artistic ambitions, Mark revealed a desire to craft music that resonates with a younger generation, inspired by his nephew's enjoyment of his songs. He noted, "Kids can listen to more than just silly tunes. They love the same songs adults hear too!" This insight fueled his vision to create meaningful 'kids pop' that maintains musical integrity, aiming to bridge the gap between children’s entertainment and artistry.
As Mark steps into this new chapter, fans can expect not just a singer, but an artist keen to explore the dynamics of family, childhood, and music. The journey ahead promises to be just as engaging as his past.
