NMIXX dropped concept photos for Strange Muse at midnight on the 30th, and the imagery landed with the kind of quiet strangeness the title promises: all six members styled with bows and arrows, the bowstrings lit with a scattered, prismatic glow that reads less like a weapon and more like something borrowed from a myth.

The sixth mini album arrives on October 19 across major streaming platforms. JYP Entertainment describes the visual aura as "unfamiliar yet beautiful", which, given how precisely NMIXX have been calibrating their sound over the last two releases, feels like a deliberate promise rather than promotional boilerplate.

What's on Strange Muse

The album carries six tracks in total. Title track Birthday Wish (Korean title: 긴 소원) leads the set, joined by Kerosene and the stylized RudE TaLK, which together suggest the group is pulling from a wider genre palette than any single mood would let them settle into.

The more significant news for longtime fans is three unit tracks, each one a group first. Sing to the Moon pairs Lily and Haewon; Hot 'n Unbothered brings together Sullyoon and Bae; WHIP is a Jiwoo and Kyujin collaboration. All three units contributed to writing their respective songs, making Strange Muse the most member-authored NMIXX project to date.

A label representative noted that NMIXX's two most recent releases, Blue Valentine and Heavy Serenade, both performed strongly, and that Birthday Wish is designed to show "a different kind of charm", which, given that the previous two were already pretty different from each other, is a useful signal that the group isn't treating this as a consolidation move.

What's coming after the release

NMIXX will follow the album with an encore run of their first world tour, EPISODE 1: ZERO FRONTIER, at Incheon's Inspire Arena from November 27 to 29. The three-night stand caps a stretch that's shaping up to be one of their busiest and most creatively ambitious yet.
