From Chanel to Custom Dior: How BLACKPINK Dominated the 2026 Met Gala Red Carpet
All four BLACKPINK members attended the 2026 Met Gala on Monday in New York, with Jisoo making her first appearance at the event. aespa's Karina also made her Met Gala debut, and a character from the series 'KPop Demon Hunters' joined the lineup for the first time.

All four BLACKPINK members walked the 2026 Met Gala on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, marking one of the rare occasions the group has appeared together at fashion's largest annual fundraiser. The full-group presence continues a pattern that has seen K-pop artists claim an increasingly prominent place on the Met's red carpet each year.

This year's event centered on the Costume Institute's new exhibition, with a theme of "Costume Is Art" and a "Fashion Is Art" dress code, a brief that gave stylists considerable latitude in how they interpreted the boundary between clothing and installation.

Jennie arrived in Chanel, her look built around a shimmering, form-fitted silhouette that drew comparisons to mermaid imagery. Lisa wore a custom Robert Wun gown that incorporated two mannequin arms attached to the dress, holding up a flowing veil, the most structurally unconventional piece among the group's four looks. Rosé took the opposite approach, wearing a minimal black Saint Laurent dress with a defined, accented waistline.

Jisoo made her Met Gala debut in a custom Dior gown designed to evoke a blooming flower. For fans tracking the group's individual fashion trajectories, it was a notable first appearance, Jisoo being the last of the four members to attend the event.

aespa's Karina also made her Met Gala debut Monday, wearing a custom Prada design that reinterpreted the silhouette and layering of hanbok, traditional Korean dress, in a contemporary formal context. The use of hanbok as a reference point for high-fashion red carpet dressing has become more common among Korean artists at international events over the past several years, a small but legible signal of how the industry is thinking about cultural identity on a global stage.

Also in attendance was Ejae, a character from the hit series KPop Demon Hunters, marking the property's first presence at the Met Gala. Ejae's sculptural silver gown, high-necked and finished with beaded detailing, was created by the show's creative directors, Jeffrey Jin and Theo Song.
