BLACKPINK's Jisoo Cried After the 10th Anniversary Event She Alone Kept Apologizing For
BLACKPINK's 10th anniversary fan event on August 8 drew tears from Jisoo after she repeatedly apologized on behalf of all four members for a celebration that gave fans just two days' notice and capped attendance at 40 people. With the other members staying silent, fans are now directing their frustration at the group as a whole.

BLACKPINK's Jisoo was filmed wiping away tears from inside her car after leaving the group's 10th anniversary Meet & Greet on August 8, and the video hit different because fans knew exactly why she was crying. She had spent the days before the event doing damage control that none of her members appeared willing to do themselves.
YG Entertainment announced the fan event just two days before it took place, on August 6. The venue was the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. The guest list: 40 fans, selected by lottery. For a milestone as significant as a decade together, the setup read like an afterthought, and the fandom said so immediately.
The initial announcement made things worse. YG's first notice stated that only some members would attend "due to scheduling." That line set off a second round of complaints before the label walked it back, confirming all four members, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, would be present. The correction landed, but the trust damage was already done.
Jisoo stepped up. Before the event, she went live and addressed the fan frustration directly, apologizing on behalf of the group and framing the backlash as a communication breakdown. She then posted a lengthy written message on the fan platform, apologizing again. No other member made a comparable public statement.
After the event itself, a fan-captured video showed Jisoo in her vehicle, accepting handwritten letters from fans through the window, visibly emotional. For a member who rarely cries in public, the moment landed hard. Fans at the scene were caught off guard.
The reaction online split into two directions. Some fans expressed deep affection and sympathy for Jisoo specifically. One fan wrote: "I can't quit because of Kim Jisoo. I feel like the purity we had before is gone and the trust is broken, but I can't watch Jisoo take the fall alone. I've been a Blink since elementary school, and I'll still be one, but I resent all of this. I never thought I'd see Jisoo cry on their 10th anniversary over something like this."
Other fans shifted their focus to the three members who stayed quiet. "I just want someone, anyone, to be as honest as Jisoo's letter was," one fan wrote. "It feels like she's the only one who even knows how to do that."
The timing is suspicious in its own way: a 10th anniversary is supposed to be a celebration, and instead the week became a story about who apologized and who didn't. YG has not commented further beyond the attendance correction. The group performed the Meet & Greet, all four members present, and then went home. Jisoo cried in the car. That's where the 10th anniversary of one of K-pop's biggest groups currently stands.
