The Busan cafe run by BTS Jimin's father will close in 365 days, and the old landlord-conflict rumors showed up right on schedule. Nothing confirms a connection.

On the 2nd, the cafe's official social media account posted the phrase "ZM-illennial D-365" alongside a closure notice. "As of today, there are 365 days left for ZM-illennial to be with you," the cafe wrote, putting the closing date roughly one year out. It thanked visitors for their "unchanging interest and love" and said it hopes the 365 days become "a precious time to build more happiness and memories," not just a countdown.

A fixture on the ARMY map

The cafe opened in 2019 under the name MAGNATE. Once word spread that it was run by Jimin's father, fans from around the world started coming. In August 2024 it was renamed ZM-ILLENNIAL, the current name.

Inside, visitors find BTS memorabilia, artwork featuring Jimin, gifts left by fans, and a guestbook for handwritten messages. For many international ARMY (BTS's fandom name), it has been a steady stop on Busan trips.

The rumor that won't go away

The closure notice has revived an earlier story. A foreign content creator previously claimed Jimin's father was under heavy stress from a conflict with his landlord and from a nearby shop. According to that claim, the neighboring store used purple decor and merchandise evoking the BTS fandom, so the two businesses could look connected.

That is one side of it. The company that holds the original MAGNATE trademark rejected the claim in a June report, denying that it took the trademark from anyone.

No direct link between the closure announcement and the earlier dispute has been confirmed. The cafe gave no reason for closing.

Fans abroad are already planning around the deadline. Many say they intend to get to Busan before it shuts to leave a last memory, and the replies mix disappointment with support for a space that has welcomed visitors for years.
