Cha Ye-ryun Denied the Bullying Claim in 1 Day. Then Came the Deleted Comments Row
HB Entertainment called the school violence allegation against Cha Ye-ryun groundless. Online, unverified comments and claims of deleted YouTube comments are keeping the story alive.

HB Entertainment shot down the school violence allegation against actress Cha Ye-ryun on the 30th, calling it "groundless" after an internal check. One day earlier, an anonymous post had set the whole thing off, and the comment sections have not calmed down since.
The post appeared on the 29th in an online community under a title asking a "1985-born actress" to stop working because she was a school bully. The author, identified only as A, claimed an actress referred to as C bullied and beat them repeatedly at a middle school in Seoul. A described being hit mostly on the cheeks, with a torn eardrum and swollen face, and said the experience still keeps them in psychiatric care, on medication, living with depression and anxiety. Other claims included assaults in classrooms and bathrooms, and borrowed gym clothes and textbooks that were never returned. A demanded an apology and an end to the actress's career activity.
A never named the actress. Some netizens did it for them, pointing to the birth year and school details and landing on Cha Ye-ryun. Her agency's denial was immediate and unqualified.

Comments pile on, none of it verified
The denial did not settle much. Comments under news coverage included claims that classmates and locals had a bad history with her, that a former classmate had posted something similar years ago, and that there were "more than a handful" of victims. Others urged patience, saying the truth would come out in time.
None of those comment-section claims, including the supposed earlier post by a classmate, has been verified. They are anonymous assertions, and they should be read that way.

The deleted comments claim
A second front has opened on Cha's YouTube channel. Some users allege that comments asking her to address the bullying claim were deleted. That, too, is an allegation, and neither Cha nor her agency has responded to it in the material available.
The timing is not helpful. Cha's channel, Chajanggeum Cha Ye-ryun, is built on cooking and family life, a warm, domestic brand, and it is now the place where viewers are asking pointed questions. She married actor Joo Sang-wook in 2017 and they have a daughter.
For now the facts are thin: one anonymous accusation, one flat denial, and a pile of unconfirmed online chatter. Whether anything firmer surfaces is the open question.
