From Gluttony to Slim: DAY6's Young K Lost 10 kg for His Return
DAY6's Young K revealed his impressive 10 kg weight loss journey and his dedication to performing on The Seasons: Sung Si-kyung's Gokmak Boyfriend. He shares his surprising eating habits and his approach to dieting.

DAY6's Young K recently opened up about his impressive 10 kg weight loss in a guest appearance on KBS 2TV's The Seasons: Sung Si-kyung's Gokmak Boyfriend. As he prepares for his comeback, Young K discussed both his transformation and the passion he brings to his activities.
Known for his substantial appetite, Young K shared that he had to adjust his eating habits to achieve his goals. During the show, host Sung Si-kyung humorously referred to him as the "emerging food master" of the K-pop industry.
In a surprising revelation, Young K detailed his eating habits, stating, "I’ve eaten up to 49 skewers of lamb and 60 dumplings. I could finish about 8 servings of beef and even 7 packets of instant noodles." This confession drew audible gasps from the audience.
However, the conversation took an unexpected turn as Sung remarked on Young K's slim physique, prompting him to explain, "Even with that much food, I wanted to look good for my comeback, so I lost about 10 kg."
Young K shared insight into his weight loss method, describing it as a "stomach diet." He believed that eating less would shrink his stomach over time, maintaining this for about four to five months with a regimen of one meal a day consisting of a single serving. He focused more on controlling his portion sizes rather than intense workouts, explaining, "I reduced carbs and prioritized protein. I still included chicken, ensuring my diet was reasonable and enjoyable."
Throughout his weight loss journey, Young K did not hide his love for food. His dedication to adjusting his meals demonstrates his commitment to both his health and performance.
He also shared a light-hearted encounter with JYP Entertainment's founder, Park Jin-young, who commented on Young K's slimmer appearance after seeing him for the first time in a while. Young K laughed, noting that Park seemed even sleeker due to his busy schedule.
When asked by Sung if he needed a break after recent major concerts at Gocheok Sky Dome and his hometown sports complex, Young K expressed his enthusiasm for performing, saying, "I want to do this because I enjoy it. I still feel like I have the energy to keep going. I want to continue as long as I can."
This determination not only signals Young K's passion for music but also marks an exciting time for DAY6 and their fans as they prepare for the upcoming comeback.
