After Going Public With Romance, Rapper Dok2 and Singer Lee Hi's New Collab Struggles to Chart
Rapper Dok2 and singer Lee Hi announced their five-year relationship and launched a joint label, but their collaborative single "You & Me" has failed to gain traction on Korean music charts three weeks after release.

Rapper Dok2 and singer Lee Hi made waves last month by publicly confirming their five-year relationship and establishing themselves as an official couple in the entertainment industry. Yet their highly anticipated musical collaboration has failed to deliver the commercial punch many expected.
As of the morning of the 17th, their new single "You & Me" has not entered the top 100 on major Korean streaming platforms including Melon, Bugs, and Genie Music. The two artists launched their joint label, 808 HI RECORDINGS, simultaneously with the song's release last month, creating considerable buzz. Three weeks in, however, the track has struggled to capture public interest and fallen short of expectations.
On the day of the single's release, Dok2 and Lee Hi officially disclosed that they first met through MBC's variety show "Infinite Challenge" in 2016 and began dating in 2022. Lee Hi posted on her personal account, calling Dok2 "my man," while he responded with "to my woman," and both shared intimate photos together that quickly set social media ablaze.
Yet the romantic momentum has not translated into chart success. For two artists representing hip-hop and R&B to establish their own independent label only to deliver a song that underperforms by industry standards has drawn criticism from observers. Dok2 has been actively promoting the track, regularly sharing behind-the-scenes moments from Los Angeles on social media and documenting their music-making process, but the single's streaming numbers remain sluggish.
The situation has been further complicated by renewed scrutiny over past financial disputes involving Dok2. Reports have surfaced that despite a court-ordered payment plan from a 2018 jewelry trade dispute with an overseas company, the debt remains unsettled and legal action is being considered.
While Dok2 and Lee Hi continue to display their affection in private, calling each other "My Man" and "My Lady", they now face the cold reality of the charts. With 808 HI RECORDINGS promising more releases ahead, attention will remain on whether the couple can reverse course and recapture audience interest with their next offering.
