ENHYPEN Returns as a 6-Member Group with Brazilian Phonk Banger 'Bloody Paradise'

ENHYPEN dropped their eighth mini-album THE SIN: BLISS on the 21st, their first release since restructuring as a six-member group. The title track 'Bloody Paradise' takes the group into Brazilian Phonk territory with production from JULiA LEWiS, the producer behind Bad Bunny's 'DtMF', and lyrics by Dynamic Duo's Gaeko.

Just two to three days after ENHYPEN quietly became a six-member group, they were already on a stage in Australia. Leader Jungwon described that period at the group's media showcase on the 20th in Yongsan, Seoul: "We knew we'd be judged by what fans see on stage, so our only thought was to perform as professionally as possible."

That mindset carried all the way through to THE SIN: BLISS, the group's eighth mini-album, which released on the 21st. It's their first project since former member Heeseung's departure in March brought ENHYPEN's headcount from seven to six, and if the showcase was any indication, the remaining members have spent every moment since deciding what they want to say with the extra space.

The album as a concert and a radio drama

THE SIN: BLISS is the second chapter in the THE SIN series, a concept universe built around a vampire love story. Where the previous volume introduced the flight of forbidden lovers, this one follows them through one crisis after another before arriving at a single realization: being together is the blessing itself. Member Jay described the listening experience as something close to tuning into a mystery radio show set inside a vampire society, with narration tracks and music woven together so tightly the album plays less like a playlist and more like a film.

The narration casting reflects how seriously the team took that ambition. Korean actor Park Jeong-min, Japanese voice actor Tsuda Kenjiro, and Chinese actor Huang Zihongfan all contributed voice work. MBC News anchor Kim Suji wrote and recorded a segment formatted as a breaking news bulletin covering the vampire elopement, a detail that lands somewhere between world-building and genuinely weird creative confidence.

Seonghun described the emotional arc simply: "You can feel the romance deepening through every crisis." The ten-track sequence moves from a blindly devoted opening, through interlude news breaks and mid-album ballads, to an old-school hip-hop closer called 'Highlight' and a final track that frames the lovers as a taboo the world refuses to forgive.

'Bloody Paradise' and that Brazilian Phonk kick

The title track is the sharpest left turn. 'Bloody Paradise' is a Brazilian Phonk track, a genre built on heavy, fractured kick drums, distorted electric guitar textures, and rhythms that sit just off the obvious grid in a way that makes them hard to stop moving to. Seonghun noted that when the members first heard the track, they all agreed it was unlike anything they'd released before, though it wasn't entirely unfamiliar: he'd already experimented with the genre on a remix from the seventh mini-album's title track 'Knife'.

The production comes from JULiA LEWiS, who worked on Bad Bunny's 'DtMF', and the lyrics were written by Gaeko of veteran hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo. The choreography leans into the track's rawness: Seonghun highlighted a hip rotation anchored by grabbing the hem of a T-shirt, and a hair-sweep move designed to let the wild, groove-heavy energy read physically. Sunoo described the song's core idea as treating the act of being beside the person you love, even while being hunted, as a kind of paradise.

Seonghun also offered one of the showcase's more memorable quotes when asked how the album stands out in a crowded month: "Our music is like tteokbokki at a restaurant," he said. "You know the dish, it's familiar and punchy, but this version is special."

Tracks fans are already circling

Beyond the title track, two album cuts drew particular attention during the showcase. Sunoo flagged the emotional pop ballad 'Bad For You' as his personal pick, while Nicky pointed to 'Highlight', the old-school hip-hop closer, noting it made the album because the members pushed hard for it.

Six members, full confidence

Jake put it plainly at the showcase: "This is the first album the six of us are releasing together, and I'm genuinely confident in it."

That confidence has context. ENHYPEN recently wrapped the North and South American legs of their largest-ever world tour, BLOOD SAGA, and made history as the first K-pop act to appear at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The fan energy from those months on the road, members said, is what powered the sprint back into recording.

The competitive context for the release is worth noting: August is unusually stacked, with BIGBANG marking their 20th anniversary, Stray Kids coming off nine Billboard 200 number ones, and NCT 127 celebrating a decade together, all returning in the same window. Jungwon acknowledged it with characteristic grace, calling it an honor to be active in the same month as "senior artists we deeply respect."

One additional detail hovering over the showcase: ENHYPEN debuted through survival program I-Land in 2020, which means their exclusive contracts approach the seven-year mark next year. Asked about renewals, the group said discussions haven't become concrete yet, but promised fans a good result when the time comes.

THE SIN: BLISS released on the 21st at 1 p.m. KST.
