Eric Nam released his fourth studio album, Confessions of a Lonely Heart, at 1 p.m. KST on the 16th, with the title track "Psycho" tracing a pull that hardens into obsession. It's his first full-length record since House on a Hill in 2023, roughly three years ago.

The nine-song album follows a single emotional arc: obsession, regret and self-blame first, then acceptance and hope. Nam took part in writing and composing across the album, and his agency, all my anecdotes, describes it as a showcase for his color as a singer-songwriter. Running through it is a push and pull between wanting to be loved and fearing anyone getting close, a loneliness that the record treats as a contradiction rather than a simple sadness.

The title track and the tracklist

"Psycho" is about an intense attraction that slides into fixation, where losing control starts to feel like part of the love itself. The sound builds gradually and leans on a repeating chorus, which suits a song about something tightening its grip.

The rest of the tracklist reads in order like a relationship from start to finish. "Reverie" is about wanting to stay inside a daydream, and "Miss Me More" is a wish that an ex will feel the empty space left behind. "Sober Up" moves from longing in the middle of a drunk night to the loneliness waiting after it fades. "Make Me Cry" captures an emotional collapse, while "How The Fire Started" deals with conflict sparked by betrayal.

"Lighthouse" and "Half As Much" both deal with the urge to lean on someone and the anxiety that comes with it. The closer, "Someday," turns back toward love and hope. Played straight through, the album covers a sharp start, obsession, a fracture, a breakup, loneliness and then a tentative reopening.

A busy run before the release

Nam signed with all my anecdotes recently, and the album lands after a stretch of work outside music. He finished third on Season 4 of Peacock's The Traitors, appeared as a special guest on Season 21 of NBC's America's Got Talent, and attended the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards and New York Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2027.

Film and voice work have followed. He is part of the voice cast for Avatar: The Last Airbender and is confirmed for KPop: The Debut. In Korea, he walked the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 31st Busan International Film Festival on the 6th, and performed at the 2026 Art Forest Festival on the 3rd.

After that detour through TV, film and fashion, this album puts him back at the center of his own music. Confessions of a Lonely Heart is available now on major streaming platforms.
