'Gag Concert,' KBS2's long-running comedy variety show, is doubling down on its family-friendly mission this spring. The program announced that it will record a special Children's Day episode on the 29th, with audience applications now open.

Under normal circumstances, 'Gag Concert' requires viewers to be at least 15 years old. But for this annual special, the show transforms into an all-ages event, both the taping and the broadcast will carry an all-audiences rating, making it accessible to younger children and ensuring families can watch together without restrictions.

The Children's Day special has become something of a tradition. What started three years ago as a single request, a young viewer's heartfelt letter asking to attend the show, has blossomed into an anticipated annual event. The initiative has won praise for reviving the show's original spirit: comedy that appeals to everyone, regardless of age.

Last year's special featured the surprise return of a retired segment called 'Gold Clip Kindergarten' and brought cast members' own children onto the stage, creating cross-generational laughs that delighted the audience. This year, the production team promises more of the same caliber of family-focused humor.

"We're thrilled to create another occasion where families can laugh together," the producers said in a statement. "We're preparing sketches and segments tailored to children's sensibilities while keeping adults entertained. We'd love to see you there."

Interested audience members can apply to attend through the official 'Gag Concert' website.
