How Forrestella's Ko Woorim Met Figure Skater Kim Yuna: A Connection That Started With a Fan and Ended in Marriage
Ko Woorim of the classical vocal group Forrestella recently revealed the sweet origin story of his relationship with his wife, Olympic figure skater Kim Yuna. The couple's first meeting happened backstage at an ice show, where Kim Yuna's mother was already a devoted fan of the group.

Ko Woorim of the classical vocal group Forrestella opened up about his first encounter with his wife, Olympic figure skater Kim Yuna, during a recent appearance on MBN's variety show Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan 3.
The broadcast revealed that all four members of Forrestella have married during their active years as a group, with each member tying the knot roughly a year apart. The youngest member, Ko Woorim, has already celebrated four years of marriage, making him the group's most senior when it comes to married life, a fact that drew laughs from his fellow members.
Ko Woorim recalled how he and Kim Yuna first crossed paths. "She was preparing for an ice show and invited us to perform as special guests at her gala," he explained. "Her mother had become a fan of our music, which is how the connection started." During the event, Kim Yuna sought out the Forrestella members backstage to get their autographed CD. "She came to our waiting room, and that's when our eyes first met," Ko Woorim said. "I felt nervous but also something really special."
His bandmates, however, painted a more dramatic picture of the moment. Leader Min-gyu recalled, "We thought he was crazy at the time," before adding with a smile, "But looking back now, it really does seem like fate."
When asked how things developed after that first meeting, Ko Woorim revealed an additional layer of serendipity. Min-gyu had arranged a dinner with Kim Yuna, and that dinner happened to fall on Ko Woorim's birthday. "She messaged me first asking if it was my birthday," Ko Woorim said. "From that point on, we started staying in touch."
Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan 3 airs every Friday at 9:10 p.m. on MBN.
