SBS has officially acknowledged the ongoing discussions about the filming status of 'There Are Chances', the drama starring actor Ha-young, who has been embroiled in controversy due to her family history. On August 26, a representative from SBS confirmed that the network is carefully considering the implications of recent developments involving Ha-young's lineage and the impact on the production.

The network stated, "We continue discussions on this matter just as we have previously. We are evaluating various factors to minimize harm to the many staff and cast members involved. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate through these essential scheduling adjustments."

Reports indicate that filming is scheduled to conclude on September 3, with Ha-young expected to complete her remaining scenes. However, the uncertainty surrounding her participation looms over the production, with suggestions that the final filming aspects could be subject to further deliberation. Unlike typical productions that hold wrap parties, 'There Are Chances' does not currently have a fixed date for one.

The controversy erupted after revelations regarding Ha-young's great-grandfather, Ahn Sang-ho, who was linked to pro-Japanese activities during Korea's colonial period. Initially, Ha-young's agency denied the allegations but later confirmed the connection when Ahn was found on a list of the pro-Japanese organization, Daejeong Chinnokwi. Following this acknowledgment, Ha-young issued a handwritten apology, expressing her remorse and commitment to a more thoughtful view of her family's history.

Despite her attempts to address the issue, the backlash has affected the production of 'There Are Chances'. The series itself is a remake of the Japanese drama Legal V and follows a law firm that tackles seemingly hopeless cases. It features Ha-young as the earnest and hardworking rookie attorney, Yu Shim-hee.

As filming approaches its end, the final decision regarding Ha-young's involvement remains uncertain, but her cast and crew continue to prepare as discussions within SBS continue. The industry watches closely as the situation unfolds, illustrating the complex interplay between an artist's lineage and their professional commitments.
