HYNN (Park Hye-won) dropped her new mini album Yeorumgyeol on August 13 at 6 p.m. KST, and the two title tracks she chose make the range of the record immediately clear: one reaches back to the wistful ache of late-1990s R&B, and the other is as polished and present-tense as anything on a 2025 playlist.

HYNN's New Mini Album 'Yeorumgyeol' Pairs 90s R&B Nostalgia With Modern Pop in a Double Title Track Release

The first title track, "3 Days Later" (3일 후), is a breakup ballad built around that end-of-millennium R&B atmosphere. Director Yoo Il-han of Capes Planet, whose previous credits include UV Syndrome and Beatles Code Season 2, helmed the music video. The visual leans into the nostalgic mood: HYNN performs in the rain, her emotional restraint doing most of the heavy lifting while Mnet Stage Fighter alumnus Yoon Hyuk-jung layers in fluid contemporary dance. The combination of stillness and movement gives the sadder emotional arc of the song room to breathe.

The second title track carries one of the longer titles in recent K-pop memory: "It's Not Like a Meteorite Fell and the Apocalypse Arrived" (운석이 떨어져 종말이 찾아온 것도 아닌데). Its music video follows on August 18 at 6 p.m. KST, directed by Kwon Jae-heon. Choreographer Choi Ho-jong, who led the movement direction for the entire project, performs alongside dancer Ahn Yu-jin in what looks to be a more kinetic, contemporary piece than its companion.

The seven-track album was built around the themes of love and memory, with producers Juho, Rohei, and KZ contributing across the project. HYNN co-wrote and co-composed "Eotteon Ibangin" (어떤 이방인, roughly "A Kind of Stranger"), one of four non-title cuts, showing a side of her artistry that goes beyond delivery alone. The pre-released track "Lead Role Practice" (주인공 연습), out since May, also appears on the final tracklist.

With the album out, attention turns quickly to the live dates. HYNN performs her summer solo concert "Midnight Blue: Luna-rium" at Yonsei University's Grand Auditorium in Seoul on August 15 and 16. The show will feature fully re-arranged versions of her songs performed with a large live band, which for a vocalist as precise as HYNN should be the real showcase of where Yeorumgyeol lives in a room. The new title tracks will be staged publicly for the first time across both nights.
