I.O.I fans have learned the hard way not to get their hopes up too high. So when the nine-member girl group announced a 10th anniversary reunion over a month ago, skepticism hung thick in the air, at least until the members actually showed up and proved it was real.

On April 9, 2026, the group posted their first reunion content across new Instagram and TikTok accounts: a performance video of them dancing to "Pick Me," the 2014 track that became their signature sound. The choreo was sharp, the energy unmistakable, and suddenly the reunion felt tangible rather than theoretical.

For longtime fans, it's a moment that validates years of hope that I.O.I might reunite someday. The group, which formed as a temporary project group for the 2014 survival show Produce 101, disbanded after their initial run despite maintaining a devoted fanbase across the years. Seeing all nine members together again on video, performing their most iconic song no less, delivered the kind of concrete proof that online announcements simply couldn't provide.

The reunion does, however, raise questions about two members notably absent from the lineup: Kang Mina and Kyulkyung. The reasons behind their non-participation remain unclear, though schedule conflicts and individual circumstances likely played a role in the nine-member configuration.
