KISS OF LIFE Confronts Suggestive Choreography Debate Head-On: 'Is There a Right Way to Be Sexy?'
The K-pop group addressed backlash over their latest music video choreography in a live broadcast, defending their artistic choices while acknowledging criticism. The members emphasized that expression in dance and art is subjective, sparking wider conversation about creative boundaries in the industry.

KISS OF LIFE has directly responded to controversy surrounding the choreography in their latest music video.
During a recent live broadcast, members of the group spoke candidly about the backlash. "We always try to take on new challenges and show ourselves as confident and bold," they said. "We know that not every reaction will be positive, but we still think it's cool that we keep pushing forward." The group acknowledged the criticism while framing their willingness to take creative risks as a point of pride.
The members went on to address the broader debate about artistic interpretation. "Dance, music, and art have different standards for everyone," they explained. "We respect those who criticize us too, they're not wrong if that's how they felt. What saddens us is when the criticism becomes hurtful toward each other."
Despite the pushback, the group stood firm in their artistic philosophy. "All women are beautiful, all women are sexy, all women are perfect, just in different ways," one member said. "But there seems to be this expectation that there's only one right answer, and anything that doesn't fit that gets labeled as strange."
The controversy erupted over the choreography for their new single "Who Is She," which featured a dance challenge video showing members in provocative moves, including gestures that mimicked choking before transitioning into hip-focused choreography. Some social media users quickly labeled the movements as overly suggestive, particularly given the group's significant teenage fanbase on short-form video platforms. Critics argued the choreography relied too heavily on shock value rather than demonstrating genuine technical skill.
The backlash also brought renewed attention to previous controversies. Member Jullie faced criticism in 2023 for a cover video containing a racial slur and issued an apology. Additionally, the group's earlier single "Lips Hips Kiss" had portions of its choreography modified following similar concerns about suggestive content.
As reactions from fans and the general public remain divided, all eyes are now on how KISS OF LIFE will navigate their next creative moves.
