2NE1's Park Bom Praised for Vocals, Criticized for Appearance in Viral Fancam
A fancam of 2NE1's Park Bom performing at a Premier League halftime show last year has resurfaced online, sparking heated debate about her appearance. Commenters are split between concern over her changing look and praise for her still-powerful vocals.

A fancam of 2NE1's Park Bom performing at the halftime show of a Tottenham Hotspur vs. Newcastle United match at Seoul World Cup Stadium last year has gone viral again, and the comment sections are a mess.

The clip, circulating under the title 'Park Bom, was that really not a filter?', shows her on stage in a leather mini dress, holding pitch through the high notes and grinning at the crowd. The performance itself is solid: stable live vocals, relaxed stage presence, the kind of showing that would have been unremarkable if the comments stayed about the singing.
They did not.
A chunk of the reaction zeroed in on her appearance, specifically around her eyes. Comments ranged from "she shouldn't have done that procedure" and "it's too much" to "someone around her should have stopped this" and "I'm genuinely worried something bad will happen." A few said seeing her in person was more alarming than the fancam. The tone was not celebratory.

But the thread was not one-sided. Plenty of commenters pushed back, calling her voice "a treasure" and "one of a kind," telling her to ignore the criticism and stay healthy. "There's no right answer in life" was one of the more measured takes in a comment section that could have used more of them.

The timing of the fancam resurfacing matters as context. Park Bom has had a rough few years publicly. She took an extended break citing health issues, and a series of erratic social media posts drew concern, including one where she referred to actor Lee Min-ho as her boyfriend. In March, she made pointed accusations on her personal account, alleging that fellow 2NE1 member Sandara Park had used drugs and taking shots at former YG Entertainment associates including Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy, and CL. Sandara Park responded directly on social media, stating flatly: "I have never done drugs. I hope she gets healthy."
More recently, Park Bom uploaded a track called Letter to her account, explaining she was releasing it early because someone was allegedly hacking her music. Whether that claim is accurate is unknown, but the pattern of posts has kept concern about her wellbeing alive in online spaces.

The fancam debate, then, is not really just about the fancam. It's a proxy for a longer, more uncomfortable conversation fans have been having about where she is and how she's doing, one the clip brought back to the surface whether anyone wanted it to or not.
