TWICE's Jeongyeon posted on Instagram on the 26th with no caption, just a string of emoji and a set of casual home photos. It's the first real glimpse fans have gotten since she announced, on the 10th, that she was leaving JYP Entertainment.

The photos show her relaxed, at home, in comfortable clothes. The reaction online was immediate: fans flagged that she looks different, lighter, more at ease than recent promotional content had suggested. Whether that's a new agency glow-up or just a good lighting day is technically unknowable, but the timing is suspicious.

The sister factor

Jeongyeon's next stop is Baro Entertainment, and the detail everyone keeps leading with is that her older sister, actress Kong Seung-yeon, is already on the roster. She didn't just pick a new agency. She picked her sister's agency. Baro is primarily an actor-management company, which lines up with where Jeongyeon is clearly pointing her career next.

She has already confirmed a role in Sinbyeong: The Movie, marking her first formal step toward establishing herself as an actress rather than a group member on hiatus. That's a meaningful pivot for someone who debuted with TWICE in 2015 and spent a decade in idol mode.

Ten years in, and a new direction

Jeongyeon is 31 this year, and TWICE itself is hitting its 10th anniversary in 2025. The group's members have been branching out at different speeds, and Jeongyeon's move to an acting-focused label is one of the cleaner signals yet that several of them are building parallel careers with real intention.

She announced the agency change via handwritten letter on the 10th, which is the format Korean idols reach for when they want the news to feel personal rather than corporate. Baro Entertainment has not made any additional statements about her plans beyond the film confirmation.
