TWICE's Jeongyeon has signed with acting agency Baro Entertainment after leaving JYP Entertainment, the label that managed her for 11 years since her debut. The kicker: Baro is also home to her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon.

Baro confirmed the signing in a press release Sunday, saying the agency was "sincerely happy" to welcome Yoo Jeong-yeon and that they were moved by "her genuine sincerity and authentic attitude toward acting." The statement was light on specifics about what projects are in the pipeline, but the direction is clear: Jeongyeon is making a run at a full acting career.

She will continue as a TWICE member alongside the solo pivot. Jeongyeon addressed the move directly on social media, acknowledging the nerves that came with leaving somewhere familiar. She said the support of her fellow members and the group's fanbase, ONCE, gave her the confidence to go through with it. Her post made a point of saying TWICE is "the biggest center" of who she is, and that standing in front of ONCE as a member will always come first.

The timing is worth noting. Several TWICE members have negotiated individual agency deals in recent years while maintaining their group contracts with JYP, a structure that has become increasingly common as the group's members move into their thirties and plan longer-term careers. Jeongyeon's move follows that pattern, though the acting lane is a distinct choice compared to some of her members who have leaned into solo music.

Jeongyeon debuted with TWICE in 2015 and has been part of some of the group's biggest hits over the past decade. Baro Entertainment now represents both Yoo sisters, which is either a family reunion or a very efficient management decision, probably both.
