Former AOA member Kwon Mina posted a lengthy statement on the 27th, and buried near the middle is the detail that lands hardest: she claims that toward the end of her time in the group, after years of compliance wore her down until her voice went quiet and her expressions became uncontrollable, she was sedated with medication.

"Wasn't I put to sleep with drugs?" she wrote, addressing the unnamed person directly. "From your perspective, I wasn't even worth bullying anymore, how infuriating I must have been."

She did not name Jimin explicitly, referring only to "that woman," but the context leaves little room for interpretation. Kwon Mina first went public in 2020 with allegations of prolonged bullying by then-AOA leader Jimin. The fallout was significant: Jimin left the group and stepped away from the entertainment industry entirely.

The '11 years' argument

The core of Kwon Mina's post is a distinction she's clearly thought about. A single major incident, she writes, could eventually heal over. Eleven years of sustained mistreatment is something else.

"If it happened once, badly, 11 years ago, I could forget it," she wrote. "But 11 years of it is different."

She said she deliberately avoids making Jimin the central focus of what she posts, not to protect her, but because she doesn't want to appear as vulnerable or easily dismissed as she once was. That framing, self-protection as the reason for continued public statements rather than grudge-holding, runs through the whole post.

Kwon Mina also described how she used to be: someone who agreed to unreasonable requests just to earn small praise, mistaking compliance for being good-natured. She says that changed. She now speaks directly, refuses what she wants to refuse, and pushes back when pushed. "At least I hear 'pushover' and 'idiot' a little less," she added, with a dry aside.

For anyone finding her posts exhausting, she was characteristically blunt: "If my name alone makes you tired, don't click. Run."

Frustration with the legal system

Kwon Mina also turned her frustration toward what she sees as a legal system stacked against victims. Victims, she wrote, are expected to produce evidence, witnesses, lawyers, and clear memories, and even then, outcomes aren't guaranteed. Perpetrators, meanwhile, can lean on mental health claims, pleas of impulse, or written apologies to reduce sentencing. She extended the point to serial killers from decades past, still alive and housed on public funds, in a broader critique of how Korean law handles those who cause harm.

Kwon Mina debuted with AOA in 2012 and left the group in 2019. The bullying allegations came in 2020. She has remained publicly vocal since, and her recent posts have added other grievances to the mix, including claims of injury from a cosmetic procedure and a separate dispute with a hospital over treatment and a membership refund. The sedation claim, though, is new, and it's the kind of detail that tends to keep a story moving.
