ALL DAY PROJECT's Annie Brings Her Two Dogs to Korea's Strictest Trainer

It takes a particular kind of nerve to bring your dogs before Kang Hyung-wook. The trainer, whose YouTube channel Kang Hyung-wook's Bodeum TV has become one of Korea's most-watched pet series, has a reputation for calling out exactly what went wrong in a dog's upbringing, and Annie, a member of ALL DAY PROJECT, knew it. "My staff told me as soon as they saw me today: 'We haven't seen you this nervous in a long time,'" she said during the October 3rd episode, laughing through her anxiety.

The video, titled with Kang's characteristically blunt framing, featured Annie bringing her two large retrievers, Echo and Coda, in for an assessment. Before Annie even walked in, Kang had already clocked the difference between the two dogs: Echo, focused and patient, waited calmly while treats were in hand. Coda, on the other hand, kept sitting down and immediately standing back up. "Did Coda learn 'sit' wrong?" Kang asked. "How did he learn it?" Annie's answer was honest: "Coda only listens when he feels like it."

The dogs' names, Annie explained, were chosen by her parents. Echo means "echo" in Korean (메아리), and Coda was shortened from the English name "Dakota." The real charm of the pairing, she noted, is that the two names combine: Echo and Coda become Ekoda. It's the kind of detail that suggests her family thought this through.

The diet, the tricks, and the verdict

Annie mentioned that Echo had put on some weight, and Kang didn't soften the correction: "That's not loose skin, he's gained weight." Echo had apparently been on a diet in preparation for the appearance, which Annie confirmed with complete sincerity, as if a retriever dieting for a YouTube cameo is a perfectly normal household event.

The "tricks" segment of the episode was where things got genuinely funny. Annie proudly presented Echo and Coda's signature skill: guessing which hand holds a treat. She called it a talent. Kang looked baffled. "That's just a dog using its nose," he said flatly. More offbeat tricks followed, each landing with the same warm absurdity.

Annie's affection for the two dogs came through in a way that went past regular pet-owner enthusiasm. She talked about how their ears flap when they run, and how sometimes, mid-workday, the thought of it is enough to stop her in her tracks. "I'll suddenly think of them and feel like I don't know what to do with myself," she said.

As for the family's nerves: "If Kang Hyung-wook-ssi tells us Echo and Coda were raised wrong, we'd all be devastated," Annie admitted. "Echo and Coda appearing on YouTube is a huge deal for our whole family right now."

Who is Annie?

Annie is a member of the group ALL DAY PROJECT and, notably, the daughter of Shinsegae Group chairman Jeong Yu-kyung and granddaughter of Shinsegae Group chairwoman Lee Myung-hee. She graduated from Columbia University, part of the Ivy League, this past May. Her appearance on Kang Hyung-wook's Bodeum TV brought her a different kind of spotlight than usual: not the boardroom or the stage, but a retriever named Coda deciding, on camera, that "sit" is more of a suggestion.
