Sanghyeon to Miss 3 Weeks of Schedules After Vocal Cord Polyp Surgery

ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Sanghyeon went under the knife on August 5 to remove a vocal cord polyp, with his agency WakeOne confirming that he will sit out all scheduled activities through August 22. The timing is tight: the group is set to release their second mini-album, UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST, on August 24.

WakeOne said the decision followed medical advice that Sanghyeon should rest his voice for approximately three weeks. In a statement, the agency noted that vocal and singing activities will resume gradually after he has recovered sufficiently, with both medical evaluations and his overall condition taken into account before any return to performance.

Sanghyeon debuted as part of ALPHA DRIVE ONE through Mnet's Boys Planet, the survival program that formed the group. His absence covers the lead-up to what is a significant milestone for the team, though WakeOne has not specified whether he will participate in the comeback's promotional activities once the medical clearance window has passed.

The group's second mini-album drops on August 24, one day after Sanghyeon's scheduled recovery period ends. Whether he steps back into full promotions immediately or on a more gradual timeline will depend on how the next few weeks go.
