Chuu's first wedding performance story has all the elements that fans love about her: genuine bewilderment, a mother who communicates entirely in sighs, and an outfit she was extremely proud of.

On the 27th, Chuu's YouTube channel Jichyeochuu uploaded a video titled "Introducing My New Family Member," filmed during the Chuseok holiday weekend. The vlog followed Chuu as she had a meal with her family before heading out to babysit the newborn of a YouTube company CEO. In transit, she was busy admiring how well she was coming out on camera. When a staff member said it was because she's Chuu, she replied without missing a beat: "That's true. I look cute on any camera. Good skin, too." It was a departure from her usual self-deprecating deflection, which she explained simply: "I'm in a hurry to feel as young as possible, even just a little more."

The outfit in question

The real story, though, was the one she brought up unprompted: her first-ever congratulatory wedding performance. The wedding in question was for one of her own staff members, and Chuu had gone dressed in her personal clothes rather than borrowing a coordinated look from her stylists, which she later learned was an option.

"It was my first time attending a wedding as an adult, so I didn't know what to wear," she said. "I was told you're supposed to dress like you're in a suit. But all I had at home were colorful clothes, so I picked a pink jacket. My mom said I should wear neat pants, so I chose jeans and put on sneakers. By my standards, I thought I looked really neat and pretty. I put together an outfit with my favorite jacket."

The jacket had never been worn before that day. She wore it once, for the wedding, and hasn't touched it since.

Her mother's verdict arrived the moment she saw Chuu walk out. One sigh. No words.

"My mom sighed as soon as she saw me, so I felt bad about it," Chuu said, apologizing to the staff member whose wedding it was.

The staff member's reaction

The staff member, far from sharing the mother's concern, told Chuu she thought she had dressed beautifully. Then came a fuller admission: she hadn't told her friends that Chuu was performing, wanting it to land as a surprise. "It had been my dream, while working in this industry, to have a close celebrity friend come and perform a congratulatory song at my wedding," she said. "I fulfilled a life dream."

Chuu's response was characteristically low-key: "It was nothing special for me." She looked genuinely happy saying it.

Comment reactions on Nate captured the warmth fans have for Chuu's earnest nature. "She's so innocent and hasn't caused anyone any trouble," read the top comment with 229 upvotes. "She never gave her manager or stylist a hard time either. It's just nice to see." Another commenter noted, simply: "She put thought into it, and above all, it's the intention that counts."
