CORTIS's second mini album GREENGREEN has crossed 500 million streams on Spotify, label BIGHIT MUSIC announced on the 14th. The count stood at 500,120,000 plays as of the 12th, reached five months after the album's release in May.

The physical numbers are just as striking. According to Circle Chart, GREENGREEN has sold more than 4.35 million copies, and with the expanded edition released in August added in, the total comes close to 4.5 million. The album includes the hit track "REDRED."

That puts CORTIS in rare company. Of all the K-pop albums released this year, only two have passed 4 million in sales: BTS's fifth album ARIRANG and GREENGREEN.

James turns his birthday into a directing project

The group also marked a member's birthday on the same day. James surprised fans by releasing a music video he planned and produced himself for his birthday.

The video sets footage James shot on his own to an original song by the American hip-hop duo Paris Texas. According to the agency, he led every stage of production, from choosing the track to creating the choreography, directing and editing.

It is also the first in a series. CORTIS plans to release special content on each member's birthday, with the five members' individual personalities set to show through. After a run of record-setting numbers, that gives fans a reason to keep checking in through the rest of the year.
