Eric, the youngest member of The Boyz, has signed an exclusive solo management contract with Grid Entertainment, the agency announced on the 10th. He will continue his activities with The Boyz in parallel, making this a dual-track arrangement rather than a departure.

Grid Entertainment confirmed the signing and said it plans to offer Eric "full support" across music and other creative fields. The label's current roster includes the group PAOU and Alpha Drive One members Lee Sang-won and Irio.

For Eric, the deal is the first major independent career move since The Boyz debuted in 2017. He's been building toward this kind of solo platform for a while: he joined The Boyz's debut lineup with a reputation for sharp dancing, and gradually expanded into rap writing and lyric credits over the years. Last January, he stepped into the radio DJ role for Idol Radio Season 4, and the show clearly worked for him. At the 2025 MBC Broadcasting Entertainment Awards, he took the rookie prize in the radio category.

In a statement, Eric said he aligned with Grid's musical direction and production vision, and that he sees genuine synergy ahead. "Based on the experiences and lessons built through The Boyz activities, I want to show many new sides and possibilities," he said. "I felt a strong sense of trust and respect, and I'm confident we can create good things together."

Grid Entertainment, for its part, called Eric "an artist with outstanding skills and unlimited potential" and promised to give him the space to grow on bigger stages.

The timing is worth noting: Grid is a relatively small label, and signing Eric while he remains active in The Boyz suggests the agency is betting on his solo brand specifically, not trying to pull him away from an existing fanbase. Whether that translates into a proper solo music push or more broadcasting work remains to be seen, but Eric's statement leans toward music first.
