THE BOYZ's 9 Members Sign With New Label After Court Win: One Member Left Behind

Nine of THE BOYZ's ten members have signed a group contract with a new, unnamed label, the group's side confirmed on the 6th, and the timing makes sense once you read the court filings.

Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric have all completed agreements to continue team activities together. Member New, who is staying with the original agency Cre.Ker Entertainment (formerly One Hundred), is excluded from group activities for the time being.

The setup going forward is a split structure: each member handles individual activities through their own separate agencies, while group work is coordinated collectively under the new label. It's an unusual arrangement, but not shocking given how the past several months unfolded.

A court recently granted the nine members' injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts with Cre.Ker, finding that the agency had failed to pay settlement funds, withheld accounting records, and neglected basic management duties. The court also rejected Cre.Ker's argument that the members' signing fees should be counted as advances deducted from future earnings, ruling instead that those payments were recruitment incentives, a distinction that matters a lot for how the members' earnings get calculated.

Cre.Ker pushed back immediately. The agency called the injunction "a temporary measure" and announced it would file an appeal. That fight is still ongoing, so the nine members' new arrangement exists in a legally complicated space, at least for now.

What makes the situation harder to ignore: Cre.Ker chairman Cha Ga-won was taken into custody on the 4th on charges under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, specifically fraud. The arrest came just two days before the new contract news broke. The timing is suspicious, even if the two developments had been building separately for months.

According to people close to the group, the nine members prioritized their relationship with fans when deciding to keep the group intact. Whether that fan trust holds through a prolonged legal dispute with Cre.Ker is the next question.
