i-dle's Soyeon Tackles Vegetable Mukbang Pledge After Hitting No. 1
Soyeon fulfilled her humorous 'vegetable buffet' mukbang pledge after her song topped the charts. Fans loved her reactions as she faced numerous vegetable dishes.

i-dle member Soyeon recently fulfilled her quirky pledge of a vegetable mukbang after her title track, "I'm Quitting My Job (Narr. Kian84)," topped the Melon TOP 100 chart. During a live broadcast on the group’s official YouTube channel on September 22, she humorously reflected on the moment she made the promise.
"I was so nervous hosting my very first radio DJ gig that I just blurted things out. At that moment, I didn’t think we would hit No. 1, so I casually mentioned it. But immediately after, I felt this uneasy gut feeling that we might actually achieve it," Soyeon admitted, recalling the pressure that came with her offhanded pledge.
Soyeon is known for her strong dislike of vegetables, a fact she made clear last August when she released the "I Hate Vegetables Song." Nevertheless, she expressed her determination to keep her word, stating, "I hate breaking promises more than anything in the world."
For her mukbang challenge, Soyeon faced a full-course vegetable menu. The meal began with appetizers including broccoli with red pepper paste, carrot-apple juice, chilled cucumber soup, fresh spring rolls, and a unique dish called witch's soup. She then moved onto the main course, a Moroccan tagine, before rounding off her meal with desserts like carrot cake and freeze-dried vegetable chips.
Among the dishes, the chilled cucumber soup proved particularly challenging for Soyeon. With a pained expression, she shared a childhood memory: "When I was young, I asked my mom for water naengmyeon, but she made me chilled cucumber soup instead." After tasting just a bite, she reached for water in a comedic moment that had fans cracking up.
As the broadcast progressed, Soyeon also took time to reflect on the album production process, revealing her initial worries. "I often asked myself, 'Am I someone who can do this on my own?' I had confidence in producing for others, but doing it for myself felt daunting. I tried various approaches, from collaborating with new composers to working again with long-time collaborators and pursuing solo creations.
The title track "I'm Quitting My Job (Narr. Kian84)" from her debut full-length album, "A Killer Life," has been praised as an anthem for office workers, resonating with listeners through its relatable lyrics and warm melody since its release on September 7. Fans have embraced the track, celebrating its honest narrative and uplifting sound.
Soyeon's vegetable mukbang not only showcased her fun personality but also connected her devoted fans with a glimpse of her personal challenges in balancing her preferences and career commitments. The broadcast ended with Soyeon’s humorous expression of relief after finally enjoying the carrot cake, leaving viewers with a memorable moment.
