OMONAR

i-dle's Soyeon has long been the creative engine behind some of the group's biggest hits, but her latest milestone is a personal one. Her debut solo title track 퇴사할게여 (Narr. 기안84), released on the 7th as part of her first full-length album 끝내주는 인생, achieved a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) on the 28th, sweeping real-time and daily charts across Melon, Genie, and Bugs, then extending the run to YouTube Music's weekly chart, FLO's 24-hour chart, VIBE's Today TOP100, and iChart's real-time and weekly rankings.

What makes the number worth pausing on: this is her fifth PAK as a songwriter, and the first she's earned under her own name alone. The previous four all came through i-dle, with group tracks TOMBOY, Nxde, Queencard, and 나는 아픈 건 딱 질색이니까 each reaching the top of the charts in their own time. 퇴사할게여 puts a solo credit beside that list for the first time.

The track has also shown the kind of staying power that doesn't depend on a promotional cycle to sustain it. Even after her scheduled broadcast appearances wrapped up, it held its position in the upper tier of the charts on the strength of the song itself. That longevity is a different metric from a release-week spike, and it tends to say more about how a song is actually landing with listeners.

On the road with the song

Soyeon has been bringing 퇴사할게여 to live audiences through the university festival circuit. She performed at Chosun University on the 16th and Induk University on the 23rd, with Jeonju University scheduled for today, the 30th. The festival crowd response has reportedly been warm, which tracks: the song's theme of quitting a job and reclaiming your life is the kind of premise that goes over well in front of a student audience.

What the album is doing

끝내주는 인생 (roughly, A Life Worth Loving) is an eight-track record that moves across rock, hyperpop, and disco without settling into any single lane. Soyeon uses the variety to move through a range of emotional registers: love, loss, anxiety, and a sense of release that runs through several of the tracks. For listeners who know her primarily as i-dle's producer and main lyricist, the album is a direct argument that her musical range extends well beyond what the group's sound has required of her.

As a fifth PAK and a first solo one, it's a clean statement of where she is as an artist right now.
