EXID's Hani Makes a Triumphant Return After Wedding Delay

An Hee-yeon, widely known as Hani from the group EXID, attended her first official event in nearly three years on September 22 at the press conference for KBS 2TV's new weekend drama Love Is Coming. She joined director Hong Seok-gu and fellow actors including Ha Suk-jin, Park Yu-na, and Bae Jeong-nam, among others, to unveil the series that explores a poignant romance rekindled after eight years apart.

In Love Is Coming, Hani plays Han Gyu-rim, a character who perseveres through the harsh realities of life while managing a banchan shop to support her family. This role not only showcases her acting skills but also signifies a major moment in her career since the delay of her wedding to psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong.

Hani publicly acknowledged her relationship with Yang in June 2022, announcing their plans to marry in September 2024. However, the couple faced unexpected challenges when a patient at Yang's hospital died due to negligence, leading to the postponement of their marriage. In reflecting on this turbulent period, Hani expressed her remorse for any distress caused to others, saying, "I feel sorry for causing concern due to personal matters. It is uncomfortable for me to discuss this here, especially when so many have committed their hearts to this project."

Despite the pressures surrounding her, Hani emphasized the significance of her return. "While taking on a KBS project has been daunting, I see it as my responsibility. I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with many people through this weekend drama, and I aspire to convey comfort, hope, and love through my character, Han Gyu-rim." This determination to share positive messages signifies Hani's resilience and commitment as she steps back into the limelight.
