Yang Hong-won and Wife Unfollow Each Other 5 Days After Wedding Amid Affair Claim

Five days after their wedding, rapper Yang Hong-won and his wife, model Won Hyun-ju, no longer follow each other on Instagram. The unfollows landed the same week an anonymous accuser claimed he took another woman to a motel, and his agency says that claim is extortion.

As of the 24th, neither account appears in the other's following list. Reports indicate Yang unfollowed first, and Won followed suit. The reason has not been made public, so the link to the affair allegation is speculation, though the timing is hard to ignore. The two married on the 18th.

What the accuser posted

On the 23rd, a user identified as A posted on social media that a "newlywed" had gone to a motel with a woman. A said the visit happened three to four weeks before the wedding. A then published a screenshot of a direct message sent to Won, a recording of a phone call with Yang, and video from a visit to Suwon. A also posted the face and account of the woman said to have been with him.

In the call, A asks for "pocket money." Yang sighs and tells A not to do wrong, asking whether A had even come to his wedding.

A later went live on Instagram and made no effort to dress up the motive. A said they wanted money and attention, and that the stream had boosted their follower count enough to make it worthwhile. Whether the allegations are true, A said, was for viewers to decide. None of A's claims has been independently verified. Another person who says they were there also posted that A made up the story to get money, so the accounts now clash.

The agency's version

AP Alchemy responded on the 23rd after speaking with Yang and the woman, whom it calls the victim. Its position: the accuser's claims are false, and the material was "maliciously edited."

The agency does concede the motel visit. Its account runs like this:

• Yang met A by chance on the day of a performance and went to A's home to drink afterward.

• A allegedly told Yang and the woman to leave and go to a motel A picked.

• Yang, drunk, went to find somewhere to sleep, and the woman, with nowhere else to go, went along.

• Yang fell asleep as soon as he entered the room. The woman, uneasy about touching him to wake him, called A for help and left with A.

AP Alchemy insists there was no affection between the two. It also says A demanded money using the visit as leverage, then edited chats and calls when refused. Yang and the woman have each filed complaints against A for extortion, violating the stalking punishment act and defamation by false statements. The agency also warned of legal action against people spreading the posts and comments.

Why the timing stings

Yang rose to fame by winning Mnet's High School Rapper in 2017 and later appeared on the Show Me the Money series. He and Won have been together since 2017 and had a daughter in November 2024. Since May, they have shared family life on the YouTube channel Yang Hong-won's Parenting Diary.

A post Yang made after the wedding has also drawn fire. It reportedly told Won he loved her, then referred to a feeling of walking into a particular motel in Cheonho-dong. Read next to this week's claims, it looks like an unfortunate bit of phrasing at best.

For now, the facts are one-sided on both ends: an accuser who admits to wanting cash and clout, and an agency that admits the motel visit but nothing else. Neither Yang nor Won has commented on the unfollows.
