Hwang Jae-kyun's retirement delayed by heat wave as he launches YouTube channel

Former baseball player Hwang Jae-kyun recently found himself in an unexpected situation when his retirement ceremony was postponed due to extreme heat, even after successfully losing 18 kg. Simultaneously, he announced the launch of his YouTube channel 'Ilwoo Hwang', marking his entry into the broadcasting world.

On August 29th at 11:10 PM, MBC's entertainment program All-Seeing Manager will feature Hwang's preparation for his retirement ceremony, showcasing his cheerful yet intense daily life. Audiences can expect to see the reveal of his impressive physique, achieved through hard work, including a remarkable reduction of 18 kg over six months, with a body fat amounting to only 3.2 kg and a body fat percentage of 3.9%.

Hwang had meticulously prepared for his retirement event, even customizing a commemorative bat and special uniform. However, the severe heat wave on the scheduled day necessitated a temporary postponement of the ceremony. To cope with the disappointment, Hwang temporarily relaxed his strict dietary regimen, indulging in a 'food storm' to celebrate the occasion instead. Following this, he headed to the baseball practice field, jokingly expressing his desire to make a comeback while energetically swinging for the fences, bringing laughter to those around him.

Despite the official event being deferred, Hwang confirmed that the family celebration would proceed as planned. In a light-hearted moment, his brother even presented him with a cake and humorously declared, "There won't be a next retirement ceremony."

Completing a stellar 20-year professional career, Hwang is keen on maintaining a connection with the public through his new YouTube channel 'Ilwoo Hwang'. The channel name was inspired by a famous phrase he shouted during a bench-clearing incident in the past, as well as reflecting his position as a first baseman. Through 'Ilwoo Hwang', he plans to share a variety of content related to his home life, fashion, hobbies, and daily challenges, kicking off a fresh chapter in his life with this new project.
