Jang Da-ah's ad shoot photos remind fans exactly who her younger sister is

Actor Jang Da-ah posted a set of behind-the-scenes photos from an advertising shoot on September 1st, and the response had less to do with the campaign itself than with how unmistakably she resembles her younger sister, IVE's Jang Wonyoung. The similarity, a small, defined face, large eyes, and an open smile, is the kind that tends to travel fast on social media, and this was no exception.

In the photos, Da-ah wore a white dress with a shirt collar and necktie accent, giving the set a clean, slightly retro feel. One shot showed her stretched out on a sofa in a relaxed pose, legs extended, with the easy composure of someone already comfortable in front of a camera. A separate image had her in a black dress, a quieter register that let her features read differently but no less distinctly.

She posted without any caption, which may have made the images land harder: with no framing to direct attention, viewers looked at her face.

Building her own career

Da-ah, born in 2001, is three years older than Wonyoung, who was born in 2004. She began her acting career in 2024 with the Tving original series Pyramid Game, which gave her a solid first platform in a competitive streaming landscape. From there she appeared in My Precious Star and, more recently, took on the role of a junior PD on a horror channel production crew in the film Salmokji.

The two sisters are now both active in the entertainment industry simultaneously, which is still relatively uncommon in Korean celebrity culture and tends to amplify scrutiny of shared traits when either one surfaces in the news. For Da-ah, who is still in the early years of her career, that scrutiny cuts both ways: the comparison generates attention, but her recent project choices suggest she is carving out a distinct lane rather than leaning into the association.
