'Like a Dream': Kim Jimin and Kim Jun-ho Reveal Baby Durubi Is a Boy

Broadcaster couple Kim Jimin and Kim Jun-ho are expecting a son, confirmed through a gender reveal video Kim Jimin posted to her social media on August 20. The announcement is part of a string of milestones for the pair, who married in July 2025 and publicly shared their pregnancy news last month.

The video, captioned with the baby's nickname Durubi and the tag #GenderReveal, shows the couple standing side by side in front of 'BOY' and 'GIRL' decorations, visibly tense as they waited for the result. Blue confetti burst out, confirming a boy, and both immediately threw their arms up in celebration. The caption added: "Like a dream, a son. Wow."

The clip's comedic undercurrent came courtesy of Kim Jun-ho, a comedian who had made his preference no secret. He arrived dressed head to toe in pink, and when Kim Jimin asked on camera whether Durubi would be a boy or a girl, he replied with confident conviction: "It's a girl." When the blue confetti landed, the video's background music, a song with the lyric-adjacent theme of disbelief, pulled a laugh from the situation. Kim Jun-ho recovered quickly enough: "Durubi's a son. He's a son. Great," he said, before pumping his fist and cheering the baby on by name.

After the reveal, both parents-to-be turned to the camera, raised their fists, and called out to Durubi directly: "Come out healthy."

The pregnancy itself carried particular weight for the couple. Kim Jimin disclosed last month that she conceived through IVF on the first attempt, crediting Kim Jun-ho's steadiness during the process. She said he had encouraged her not to rush or push too hard, and that she leaned on that support when she began treatment. Coming just one year into their marriage, the news drew widespread congratulations from fans and peers alike. Colleagues including Moon Se-yun, Kim Yun-gyeong, Park Seul-gi, and Kang Jae-jun left comments.

Kim Jimin had given fans a heads-up on the 14th, during a social media Q&A, saying the gender reveal was coming soon. She was candid at the time that both she and Kim Jun-ho had hoped for a daughter, while also saying a son would be just as welcome. The reveal answered the question six days later.

The due date is early February 2027. When Kim Jimin announced the pregnancy in July, she wrote: "In 2025 we became two forever; in 2026 we became the three we had dreamed of." With the gender now confirmed, the couple moves into the second half of their pregnancy with a clearer picture of who Durubi will be.
