Actor Kim Tae-oh Is Getting Married on August 8 to Fellow Musical Star Kim Yi-hu
Actor and musical performer Kim Tae-oh will marry fellow musical actress Kim Yi-hu on August 8, both announced on social media. The two met while performing together in the musical Grease and went on to become a couple.

Actor Kim Tae-oh shared his wedding news on social media on the 4th, writing that he will marry on August 8 the person he wants to share his life with. Both he and his fiancée, musical actress Kim Yi-hu, posted their own personal statements the same day.

In his announcement, Kim Tae-oh (real name Kim Tae-sik) reflected with a candor that stood out. "I still have much to learn and I am far from perfect," he wrote, "but knowing that I now have someone to walk through life with, rather than walking alone, makes me feel grounded and grateful." He added that he has begun to see not just the life of actor Kim Tae-oh, but the life of the person Kim Tae-sik, and that he hopes living together will make him a better man and, over time, a better actor.
Kim Yi-hu (real name Kim Ji-hye) framed the occasion in language that fit her stage background. She wrote that the two would "stand together on the long stage that is life, lighting each other up," and that she would continue to dream and never stop seeking new adventures. She also thanked fans for their warmth and asked them to bless the couple's first steps together.
The two met while performing in the musical Grease and gradually became a couple. It is a fitting origin story for two careers built almost entirely in musical theater.

Kim Tae-oh, born in 1992, made his debut in 2016 with the musical Tobacco Shop Girl. He built a stage resume that includes Beauty, Grease, Mamma Mia!, and Sisyphus, and has expanded into television in recent years with roles in the dramas Shinbyeong (ENA), Goryeo-Khitan War (KBS2), and Please Stop the Drinking (tvN).
Kim Yi-hu debuted in 2017 with the musical Bare: A Pop Opera and has since appeared in Grease, Woyzeck in the Dark, Fan Letter, Almond, and The Last Man. She is currently performing in both the musical On the Origin of Species and the play An Angel Sleeps in the Clavicle.
