Kwon Sang-woo Got Turned Away From His Favorite NYC Store With 10 Minutes to Spare
Korean actor Kwon Sang-woo had a simple plan during a New York visit: stop by his favorite fashion brand's store and pick something up. The store had other ideas, turning the couple away with just 10 minutes left before closing.

Korean actor Kwon Sang-woo traveled all the way from New Jersey to visit his favorite fashion brand's store in New York, only to be turned away at the door with 10 minutes left before closing time. The incident, which quickly became the running joke of the outing, was captured on his wife Son Tae-young's YouTube channel in a video uploaded on the 26th.

Arriving at the storefront, Kwon could barely contain his excitement, telling the camera it was his "all-time favorite brand." The mood shifted fast. Staff at the door told the couple the store was closing in 10 minutes and would not let them in.
Son Tae-young, herself a well-known actress, recounted the exchange with good humor. "We came all this way and they wouldn't let us in because there were only 10 minutes left," she said. "We told them we'd driven from New Jersey and could pick something out in 10 minutes, they still said no." She added, in a line that got the biggest laugh: "They didn't recognize an Asian star."
Kwon took the rejection with visible deflation. "I got shut out," he said. "They said they were closing in 10 minutes, so I told them I'd buy something in five. Still no. Let's go." He turned and walked away from the store with the resigned energy of someone recalibrating their entire evening.
The couple's attempt to recover at a nearby café did not go much better. Son Tae-young reported that the café was two minutes from closing as well, leaving them no option but to order their drinks to go. Kwon, already subdued from the shopping disappointment, sat quietly while she broke the news.
The video's title on Son Tae-young's channel framed it simply: "The reason Kwon Sang-woo got denied entry when he went to buy clothes." For viewers, the appeal was less about celebrity mishap and more about a very ordinary kind of bad luck, arriving somewhere you really wanted to be, just a few minutes too late.
