Anna, the Swiss-born wife of former Korean soccer player Park Joo-ho, used a YouTube Q&A session on the 27th to address the wave of concern that followed her fourth pregnancy announcement, clarifying that her triple-negative breast cancer has been in complete remission for over three years. The announcement, made on the 13th through her channel With ANNA, had prompted some viewers to mistakenly assume she was still undergoing treatment, leading to criticism of the pregnancy decision alongside the congratulations.

Setting the record straight on her health

Anna was direct about the timeline. She explained that she had been in complete remission, a state in which no cancer or tumor is detectable on testing, for more than three years, and that the pregnancy followed extensive consultation with her medical team. "I listen closely to the doctors I trust," she said. "We've had honest, open conversations, and this decision came after enough of those. Above all, I made sure to get confirmation from my doctors that it was safe to get pregnant before deciding."

She added that reaching a point where she could think about her health without anxiety had required multiple rounds of testing and regular check-ups, and that she was grateful to be there. The cancer Anna battled was triple-negative breast cancer, one of the more aggressive subtypes, which she disclosed publicly in November 2022. At that point her husband Park Joo-ho, who played professionally in Germany and Switzerland before retiring, appeared on MBC's Radio Star in July 2023 and noted that while a full cure had not been declared, she had received a positive assessment and needed only continued monitoring.

Her current description of the situation, complete remission confirmed by her physicians, represents a meaningful update on that earlier public account.

Choosing Korea for the birth

Beyond the health questions, Anna revealed a detail that visibly surprised some of her audience: she intends to give birth in Korea rather than Switzerland, where the family is based, specifically because she wants to experience a sanhujojowon, the Korean postpartum care center that is a standard part of the birth experience for many Korean mothers.

"I've never experienced it before," she said, "and I've been curious for a long time about postpartum care centers in Korea and the support provided to mothers after giving birth. I think it's a unique part of Korean birth culture that you can only really experience here, and if I had the chance, I always wanted to try it at least once."

The sanhujojowon model, in which new mothers spend roughly one to two weeks in a dedicated facility receiving meals, infant care guidance, and physical recovery support, is widely used in Korea and largely unfamiliar to mothers elsewhere. Anna's interest in it reflects a longer arc in her public persona: she and Park Joo-ho married in 2015 and appeared regularly on the KBS2 parenting variety show Superman Returns with their children, daughter Naeun and sons Gunhoo and Jinwoo, building a following around their cross-cultural family life. A fourth child, born in Korea with Korean postpartum care, would add another chapter to a story that audiences have followed for nearly a decade.

Asked about the pregnancy itself, Anna said the entire family was very happy, and that this experience felt genuinely new. "I'm going through pregnancy at another stage of life," she said, "and that makes it feel quite different from before."
