Actors Lee Joo-seung and Cheon Woo-hee have been friends for 13 years, and on the October 9th episode of MBC's Na Honjasan (I Live Alone), they made that friendship look comfortable enough to set the studio panel talking. The episode fell into a pattern the show has used well: a cast member reveals a new home, and the chemistry of whoever shows up tells you more than the apartment does.

Lee Joo-seung recently moved into a new place, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment decorated in white and natural wood tones, with a separate personal studio space for his work as a visual artist. He spent the first night after moving in too excited to sleep, and admitted frankly that financing the place meant borrowing over 70 percent through a lease loan. Fellow Na Honjasan regular Jeon Hyun-moo gifted him a washer-dryer set; Gu Seong-hwan sent a garment steamer, and Gi An-84 chipped in with a speaker.

The housewarming guest list of one

For his first housewarming, Lee Joo-seung chose a single guest: Cheon Woo-hee. Walking in, she looked around and said, "This is the first time I've been to a male friend's place," noting that the two had always met outside rather than at home. Lee Joo-seung had prepared a spread of lamb skewers and stir-fried tomato and egg, and described their friendship in an interview with the production team: "We never run out of things to say. We start talking nonsense and completely lose track of time."

The ease between them was evident throughout dinner. When a strand of hair fell across Cheon Woo-hee's face, Lee Joo-seung reached over and moved it without a second thought. He also served food directly onto her plate. Gi An-84, watching from the studio, made his disapproval audible, "One-on-one at someone's home means they're dating", which prompted Lee Joo-seung to push back calmly: "That's just what you do for a female friend. We're not like that."

After the meal, Cheon Woo-hee presented her housewarming gift: a seascape painting she had made herself. Lee Joo-seung had mentioned offhandedly that he wanted a painting of the ocean, and despite having no prior experience with painting, she spent several nights working on it. Lee Joo-seung said it surpassed what he had expected. He gave her a wooden cutting board engraved with her name, which he had made himself. The two then sat close together scrolling through other paintings Cheon Woo-hee had done on her phone, close enough that the studio panel joked they looked like a single person.

The episode also lightly touched on the apartment's design concept. Lee Joo-seung described it as "nature, breathing wood, Seongsu-dong Groot," a reference to the tree-like Marvel character that drew laughs from Jeon Hyun-moo. The show also noted that Lee Joo-seung's trophy cabinet, displayed neatly in the living room, earned a dry "Oh, a proper film actor" from Cheon Woo-hee, followed by Jeon Hyun-moo pointing out that she has considerably more awards herself.

Na Honjasan airs on MBC every Friday at 11:10 p.m. KST.
