Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung Return in 'Made in Korea' Season 2, Premiering September 9 on Disney+
Disney+ has confirmed that 'Made in Korea' Season 2 will premiere on September 9, reuniting leads Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung. The neo-noir drama was Disney+'s most-watched Korean original worldwide in 2024, and the new season picks up nine years after the events of the first.

Disney+ has set September 9 as the premiere date for Made in Korea Season 2, the platform confirmed on the 4th. The announcement brings back the full central cast, with Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung reprising the roles that made the first season Disney+'s most-watched Korean original worldwide in 2024.
Made in Korea is a neo-noir drama set against the turbulent backdrop of 1970s South Korea, a decade defined by rapid industrialization alongside political upheaval. Hyun Bin plays Baek Ki-tae, a man who treats the nation itself as a profit vehicle on his way to the top. Jung Woo-sung plays prosecutor Jang Geon-young, who pursues him with an almost pathological determination. The push and pull between the two characters drove the first season's tension, and Season 2 does not appear to be letting that go.
The new season jumps forward nine years, following Baek Ki-tae as his ambitions grow larger and more reckless. The precise nature of what he is chasing, and who stands in his way, remains undisclosed for now.
Director Woo Min-ho, who helmed the first season, returns behind the camera. The supporting cast carries over as well: Woo Do-hwan, Seo Eun-su, Won Ji-an, Jung Sung-il, and Noh Jae-won are all confirmed to appear.
For a drama that earned its viewership numbers by leaning into period atmosphere and a genuinely threatening central performance from Hyun Bin, the nine-year leap in the story is an interesting structural choice. It suggests the creative team is less interested in direct continuation than in showing what a man like Baek Ki-tae looks like when he has had nearly a decade more to consolidate power. That is usually when the real damage starts.
