The two crossed paths through Bachi, the creative collective Moon led as director, where they worked together on projects that included a short film she both wrote and directed. Jeong also had a role in the tvN drama Ghost Detective, which starred Moon, and multiple sources identify that shared creative space, rather than any single production, as where the relationship took root.

For longtime fans, the pairing carries a certain logic. Moon has spoken openly about how much the Bachi collective meant to her, a space where actors engaged with work as something to be thought through together rather than just performed. She has also completed filming on director Yeon Sang-ho's upcoming film Yeto.
