N.Flying released their ninth mini album, Still, on the 8th, and the record arrives with a clear creative stamp: leader and guitarist Lee Seung-hyub contributed to every single one of its seven tracks, with vocalist Yoo Hwe-seung also earning writing credits on one of them.

The album, released through FNC Entertainment at 6 p.m. KST, collects the title track Janbeul (Still) alongside Go Saeng Haesseo (My Dearest), Nareul Saranghaji Anneun Neoge (Wake Up), Eojjeomyeon Gajang Seotun Naega Joahsseo (The Way We Were), Hongsil, Aneun Gyeolmal (Our Ending), and Ujumeoji (Fading Away).

The title track and what sparked it

Janbeul is a rock number that layers a heavy rhythm section against lyrical guitar riffs, and the emotional core is deliberate: even when your presence has shrunk in someone else's heart, you can still carry your own warmth. What makes the backstory notable is that the song grew out of an actual conversation between Lee Seung-hyub and bassist Seo Dong-seong, two friends working through something real before it became a record.

In a Q&A released alongside the album, Lee reflected on a specific lyric about a sky turning red, framing it as a thought about living inside the moment before it hardens into memory. "I wanted people to feel this time fully," he said. Guitarist Cha Hoon described how he used the guitar solo to mark both ends of the song: "It opens quietly and lonely, then closes with the ember catching fire again." Seo Dong-seong added that he hoped the album would be the thing that reignites a passion that had begun to cool.

The track fans are already talking about

Beyond the title track, the members were unanimous in pointing to Ujumeoji (Fading Away) as the album highlight. It had already been performed at tour dates ahead of the release, which gave fans a head start on the attachment. Cha Hoon singled out the chord progression and melody line in the chorus as the most distinctly N.Flying moment on the record. Lee Seung-hyub said the arrangement took a long time to crack, describing a process of chasing a sound he could hear in his head before finally pulling it into a finished song. Yoo Hwe-seung, meanwhile, pointed to Nareul Saranghaji Anneun Neoge (Wake Up), the track he worked on, as his personal pick: a self-directed pep talk that he hopes translates into comfort for listeners going through their own rough patches.

Drummer Kim Jae-hyun offered the detail that put the album's emotional stakes in sharpest focus. At an earlier performance where the title track was previewed, the crowd went completely silent after the song ended. "The silence felt like everyone stopped breathing," he said. "That's when I felt that our sincerity had actually reached them."

N.Flying performed their comeback stage on Mnet's M Countdown on the same day as the album's release.
